What MedPayIQ is

MedPayIQ is a free reference tool that displays publicly available Medicare reimbursement data and aggregated information voluntarily contributed by medical billing professionals. We do not provide medical billing services, coding services, legal advice, compliance review, or claims processing.

By using MedPayIQ, you agree to these Terms.

Critical disclaimer about billing decisions

The information on MedPayIQ is provided for general informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for the judgment of a certified medical coder, compliance officer, billing supervisor, or healthcare attorney.

Medicare reimbursement amounts depend on factors specific to each claim, including modifiers, place of service, payer contracts, local coverage determinations, documentation, and payer policies that change over time. Aggregate statistics about denials and appeals reflect what other billers report. They do not predict the outcome of any specific claim.

Always verify reimbursement and coding decisions with CMS, your specific payer contracts, and your organization’s compliance team before submitting claims. MedPayIQ is one input to your decision, not a substitute for it.

Acceptable use

You agree to use MedPayIQ only for lawful purposes. You will not:

  • Submit any patient information, including names, dates of birth, medical record numbers, dates of service, addresses, phone numbers, or content copied from electronic health records
  • Submit false or fabricated reports designed to mislead other users
  • Submit reports about claims you did not actually file or appeals you did not actually pursue
  • Attempt to scrape, copy, or republish our data in bulk without permission
  • Attempt to overwhelm or attack the service through high-volume requests, automated submissions, or other means
  • Use the service in any way that violates HIPAA, state privacy laws, or other applicable regulations
  • Use the service to defame, harass, or harm any payer, provider, or other party

We reserve the right to remove submissions, block IP addresses, or refuse service to anyone violating these rules.

User-contributed content

When you submit a denial report or appeal outcome, you grant MedPayIQ a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use that content (in aggregated, anonymized form) for the purpose of computing and displaying statistics on the site, improving the service, and supporting the medical billing community.

You represent and warrant that any content you submit:

  • Is true to the best of your knowledge
  • Does not contain protected health information
  • Does not violate any contractual obligation, employer policy, or law
  • Is your own knowledge and experience, not someone else’s confidential information

We may remove any submission at our discretion, particularly if it appears to violate these representations or contains apparent patient information.

Data sources and accuracy

Medicare rates displayed on MedPayIQ are derived from the CMS Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (currently the RVU25A release dated December 23, 2024). Geographic adjustments use the official 2025 Geographic Practice Cost Index (GPCI) values for all 109 Medicare localities.

We make reasonable efforts to ensure data accuracy. Despite this, errors are possible. Display rates may not reflect the most recent CMS updates if those updates were released after our most recent data refresh. CPT codes and descriptions are maintained by the American Medical Association and are reproduced under fair use for reference purposes.

AI-generated content (billing tips, modifier guidance, common denial reasons) on individual code pages is produced from verified rate data combined with general billing knowledge. It is intended as a starting point, not authoritative guidance.

No warranty

MedPayIQ is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, that defects will be corrected, or that the service or its servers are free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any data or content displayed.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MedPayIQ and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation lost revenue, lost profits, denied claims, audit findings, compliance penalties, or any other monetary or non-monetary loss arising out of your use of the service or reliance on its content.

Our total cumulative liability to any user for any cause whatsoever, regardless of theory, is limited to one hundred US dollars (US$100).

Intellectual property

MedPayIQ’s site design, code, structure, AI-generated content, and aggregations are the property of MedPayIQ. Medicare rate data is sourced from CMS public records. CPT codes, code descriptions, and CPT-related materials are copyright American Medical Association.

You may use MedPayIQ’s information for your own professional reference, including in client work and internal analysis. You may not republish our pages, scrape our data in bulk, build a competing service from our content, or remove copyright or attribution notices.

Changes

We may update these Terms as the service evolves. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of MedPayIQ after a change indicates your acceptance of the updated Terms.
